We believe in a work-based society

2021. 01. 22.

“The Hungarian Fidesz-KDNP Government has successfully demonstrated that a work-based approach is the solution to economic development and that a social benefit-based society is wrong,” MEP Ádám Kósa pointed out, noting that the Fidesz-KDNP Delegation to the European Parliament voted against the left-wing initiative envisioning unconditional housing for everyone.

There are many different local, regional and national housing solutions in different regions of Europe. It would therefore be a mistake to impose the same solution on all countries.

Over the past ten years, the successful economic policy of the Fidesz-KDNP Government has focused on a work-based society and support for families. A comprehensive home-creation and renovation support system has been set up to help families, than is unique in Europe. The family housing support program (CSOK) was successfully introduced, a discounted home loan was provided, VAT and tax reductions were introduced, and renovation support was also provided in Hungary.

This new EP report calls for the state to provide housing for everyone without any work or performance, namely high-quality housing. It contains populist suggestions that even undocumented migrants should be provided with housing as quickly as possible with excellent air quality and, where possible, intelligent solutions. The Fidesz-KDNP Delegation did not support the report, which recalls such communist dreams.
