At Thursday’s plenary session, the European Parliament (EP) adopted the Net Zero Industry Act. Fidesz MEP András Gyürk emphasized regarding the decision: “Due to the anti-industry policy of Brussels, the competitiveness of the European economy has fallen to a historical low in the last five years. Although this legislation is a step in the right direction, in order to save jobs and companies, the implementation of the proposals cannot be entrusted to the failed Brussels bureaucrats and the left that served their policies.”
“The European economy is teetering on the edge of recession, the continent’s industrial production and orders are decreasing. Businesses are going bankrupt, and large enterprises are considering relocation to the United States or China. This is the result of Brussels’ anti-industrial policy, characterised by the absurd green ideology and the increase of bureaucracy,” the Fidesz politician pointed out.
The situation has become untenable, a change in our strategy is necessary. “The current proposal is finally moving in the right direction. The recognition of the strategic importance of nuclear energy and the objectives of promoting the manufacturing of net-zero technologies in Europe can constitute important steps for the recovery of European industry. “Proposals on the reduction of bureaucratic burdens, simplifying licensing procedures and helping SMEs are also to be welcomed,” underlined the Hungarian MEP.
“However, achieving these goals is at least as important as creating them. We cannot entrust this to the pro-war bureaucrats in Brussels who undermined the competitiveness of European industry and the left that serves them in all this. Above all, change and a new industrial policy are needed in Brussels to save jobs in Europe. Only the European right, including Fidesz-KDNP, can provide this on June 9,” said MEP András Gyürk.
