We need a change in Brussels in June!

2024. 04. 23.

The European Parliament debated the lessons of last week’s meeting of EU heads of state and government in plenary today. In her speech, Fidesz MEP Enikő Győri said: “We must not only evaluate the EU summit, but also the last legislative period. We have had five wasted years. The EU has failed in crisis management, it is weak and divided.”

She stressed that “the EU was born as a peace project. The current elite in Brussels is pro-war. There is no military solution to the war between Russia and Ukraine. The sooner we have peace, the more lives we can save and the sooner we can minimise the risk of a third world war. That is why we should do our utmost”.

She added: “The EU was created to make us stronger together. Yet the EU has never been more divided. On war, migration and gender, the Commission is blackmailing Member States that are out of step by withholding the resources they deserve.”

MEP Enikő Győri said: “Instead of ideological debates, it is time to tackle the problems that really affect people. Europe is losing its competitiveness. The imposed green ideology has destroyed European industry and agriculture.”

“The migration pact is nothing more than a repackaging of proposals that have already been rejected. The point remains the same: they want to manage migration, not stop it. Hungary will not accept illegal migrants. Asylum applications must be processed outside the borders”, MEP Győri underlined.
