We are working in Brussels for Hungary’s secure energy supply and for the protection of the national utility cost reduction scheme!

The European Parliament’s Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) Committee has discussed the list of energy projects of common interest (PCI) at its Thursday meeting. With regard to the debate, András Gyürk, a Fidesz MEP and member of the Patriots for Europe group, underlined: “The list includes eight projects to be completed in Hungary. This is an important achievement. These projects will increase the security of our country’s energy supply and help to maintain the utility cost reduction scheme. This is our offer – this is why the Fidesz-KDNP is the safe choice in the upcoming election.”

The list is compiled by the European Commission every two years and contains energy infrastructure projects that are eligible for the EU’s financial, permitting and technical support. The new PCI-list includes mostly electricity grid developments, as well as projects enabling hydrogen production and the transport of carbon-dioxide.

Eight Hungarian projects have also been included in the latest list. “These include strategic initiatives such as the construction of the Debrecen-Nagyvárad electricity transmission line, the development of the Hungarian hydrogen transmission system, and the ‘Selena’ smart grid project which will be implemented jointly with the Czech Republic and Slovakia,” the Hungarian MEP pointed out.

The new list is the result of the hard work done by the project promoters, as well as of the consistent stance of the Hungarian government. “The national government has negotiated well. These investments will increase Hungary’s energy sovereignty and can also contribute to the protection of the utility cost reduction scheme. This is our offer, this is why the Fidesz-KDNP is the safe choice in the upcoming elections,” summarized András Gyürk.
