The position of the Fidesz delegation to the European Parliament is consistent: we will not give in to any political blackmail

The European Parliament plenary voted today on its plans for the EU budget for 2024.  The Fidesz delegation to the European Parliament strongly rejects the use of the EU budget as a tool for political pressure against Member States. 

The European Parliament’s report on the EU’s 2024 budget guidelines would have been another tool for the dollar left to apply political pressure in a legal guise. Ferenc Gyurcsány, the leader of the dollar left, has himself admitted that there is no basis for the European Commission to raise any legal or rule-of-law objections against Hungary. He himself admitted in public that the European Commission has political objections to Hungary. In his disgraceful statement, Gyurcsány admitted that the Hungarian dollar left in Brussels is working to ensure that Hungary does not receive the EU funds to which Hungarians are entitled. The dollar left’s constant scheming is why the EU withholds funds due to Hungary, Hungarian citizens, businesses, universities and students. The Fidesz delegation will not give in to ideological blackmail and has rejected the draft parliamentary report.
