Press Release by the Fidesz-KDNP delegation to the European Parliament

Representing the will of the Hungarian people in the European Union continues with today’s inaugural session of the European Parliament.  The 13-member delegation of Fidesz-KDNP will do its utmost to stop illegal immigration and protect the Europe of nations and Christian culture. In the new European Parliament, the delegation will work to end the program offering prepaid debit cards to migrants and to withdraw the migrant visa plan, as they both enhance illegal migration. MEPs from the Hungarian opposition parties however joined the pro-migration forces.

The Fidesz-KDNP alliance achieved a historic victory in the European Parliament elections in May 2019 with a record high (nearly 44%) participation rate. The alliance won 13 out of Hungary’s 21 mandates and will be the largest Hungarian delegation in the EP. The Fidesz-KDNP delegation held its inaugural meeting today. The new Head of Delegation is MEP Tamás Deutsch, who has been an MEP since 2009. While MEP József Szájer, who has been an MEP since Hungary’s EU accession in 2004, has been elected as President of the Delegation. Both are founding members of Fidesz party.
