“Seventy-seven years have passed away, but January 27 is still an important day in our memory. Our shared responsibility is to remember all the horrors, sufferings, and ordeal that human beings can do to one another so that it cannot happen again. We have a shared responsibility to process and heal the past traumas at a social level together”, highlighted Fidesz MEP Lívia Járóka on the occasion of the international Holocaust remembrance organized by the EP.
“The European Parliament, in its commemoration, respects all the victims and fates of the Shoah and Porajmos. I welcome the inclusive and rewritten European memory of the Holocaust. The genocide, which ended seventy-seven years ago, carries an important message to this day. We must tell from generation to generation the importance of shared memory and remembrance”, said the politician.
“Europe has a shared responsibility to ensure that all horrors that discriminate between people and people based on their religious, ethnic and cultural identity are not repeated. The unity of Europe lies in its diversity. And we all need to preserve this diversity. An eternal message that the Holocaust can teach us even after all this time is the importance of a courageous stand and the ability to say no. Let us say no to hatred and exclusion in all its forms”, called on the public the MEP.
