2019. 07. 03.

The European Parliament has once again a Vice-President from Fidesz by re-electing MEP Lívia Járóka.

On its group meeting yesterday evening, the European People’s Party nominated Lívia Járóka to become Vice-President, and the European Parliament confirmed her nomination by a plenary vote today. With her work to eradicate European poverty, integrate Roma citizens and improve the situation of women, Járóka has earned the recognition of her fellow MEPs who supported her with their votes to re-elect her as a Vice-President.

Lívia Járóka served as a Member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2014, then returned to the EP in September 2017. The Fidesz politician was the EP’s first Roma member and, since 2017, the Parliament’s first Vice-President of Roma origin.
