In Brussels, lies are being spread about Hungary in the morning, in the evening and at night – Fidesz-KDNP Delegation rejects all the slander!

Unfortunately, the European Parliament’s first independent reaction only came weeks after the outbreak of the new coronavirus epidemic in Europe, which has already claimed tens of thousands of lives. Even in the time of such a serious crisis, an unprecedented pandemic, the European Parliament has failed to set aside political and ideological debates against Member States and their governments. Fidesz – KDNP Delegation to the European Parliament firmly rejected the slander against Hungary that took place during the debate and at the final vote. With their abstention, they rejected the provocation against Hungary, but at the same time expressed support for joint European action against the epidemic.

Unfortunately, the European Parliament’s resolution on concerted action to combat the coronavirus epidemic, adopted today, far from meeting expectations.

Unfortunately, the European Parliament’s first independent reaction only came weeks after the outbreak of the new coronavirus epidemic in Europe, which has already claimed tens of thousands of lives.

The main reason for the delay was that, at the beginning of the epidemic, Brussels made an absolutely incorrect assessment of the gravity of the situation, and then, after the spread of the infection, EU institutions listened helplessly for weeks; they did not act, betraying tens of millions of European citizens.

All of this was compounded by the fact that, in the time of such a serious crisis, an unprecedented pandemic, the European Parliament has failed to set aside political and ideological debates condemning Member States and their governments. In fact, Brussels wants to cover up its own inertia via conflicts with Member States.

The resolution contains extremely unbalanced, empty-minded, left-wing and liberal political revelations had been heard to the point of boredom. In addition, the belated decision of the European Parliament calls for measures in many cases that are far too insufficient given the current serious situation.

The text contains factual errors, obvious lies, and slander based on political prejudices against Hungary’s measures against the coronavirus, expressed by mainstream liberal networks in the recent period. In contrast to the idle, helpless and paralyzed European Parliament, for example, in contrary to the accusations, the Hungarian Parliament is in session.

The resolution reflects the political position of the left-liberal-centrist majority across political groups in the European Parliament, shows the opinion of the pro-migration left-liberal majority, who have been angrily attacking Hungary with their accusations for many years.

Instead of the broad cooperation needed to fight the coronavirus epidemic, they have now focused on political and ideological debates, as part of which they are attacking Hungary with blatant lies.

However, the decision also proposes some important elements for joint European action against the epidemic, the implementation of which would be a significant step forward by comparison with the current situation.

Fidesz – KDNP delegation expressed its firm rejection of the slander against Hungary that took place during the plenary debate. Moreover, by the abstention at the final vote, we reject the provocation against Hungary but at the same time expressing support for joint European action against the epidemic.
