A new chapter is needed in the functioning of the European Union – A radical change is necessary in European immigration and economic policy

Press Release by the Fidesz-KDNP Delegation to the European Parliament

The Fidesz-KDNP Delegation to the European Parliament looks forward with advanced confidence to the new European Commission, thus our delegation supported its election and the election of its President, Ursula von der Leyen. We consider the election of Olivér Várhelyi as EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy as one of the greatest diplomatic successes of the past ten years.

The previous European Commission’s pro-migration policy and failed economic policy has caused serious damage and weakened Europe. Migrants have been allowed in, the British have left the EU, the security of the continent has deteriorated significantly, and the European economy is once again showing signs of crisis. Therefore, a new direction is needed in both European immigration and economic policy.

At the May European elections, the Hungarian people made it clear that they expected Fidesz-KDNP MEPs to do their utmost to stop immigration and protect a Europe of nations and Christian culture. The Fidesz-KDNP Delegation, representing the will of the Hungarian people, follows this policy in the European Parliament, and we are ready to support the work of the new European Commission to achieve these goals, to stop immigration, to protect a Europe of nations, and to protect Christian culture.
