The European Commission announced the next stage of infringement procedures against Hungary, declaring the Hungarian child protection act to be incompatible with EU law. The Fidesz delegation to the European Parliament insists that the upbringing of Hungarian children remains the exclusive right of Hungarian parents. We will not allow Brussels and the left to use more and more means to force Hungary to back down on its Child Protection Act.
Brussels has launched an attack on Hungary because the Hungarian Parliament voted in favour of the Child Protection Act by a large majority this summer. The pressure has continued since then, taking on many forms: infringement proceedings, rule of law reports, political threats and withholding EU funds as a form of blackmail. Today we have reached a new stage: The Commission has launched proceedings against Hungary, branding the Hungarian child protection law incompatible with EU law.
Whereas in 2015 we were attacked for defending our borders, now they are on the offensive because we want to protect our children. Because we won’t let the LGBTQ lobby into our schools. Because we will stop the gender madness and sexual propaganda at the fences of our schools and kindergartens.
We stand up for the exclusive right of Hungarian parents to educate Hungarian children. Hungary wants to and will protect its culture, its national identity and the family values that come from these: As a free and independent country, this right must be guaranteed by both EU and international law.
The Fidesz delegation to the European Parliament finds that Brussels and the left are attacking Hungary now because we do not allow LGBTQ propaganda in kindergartens.
