The European Parliament held a debate today in plenary on the conclusions of the European Council meeting of June 29–30. In his speech, MEP Tamás Deutsch, Head of the Fidesz delegation to the European Parliament, made it clear that we will not accept the mandatory quota or the obligation to build migrant ghettos and camps. For us, the will of the Hungarian people comes first.
In his speech, MEP Tamás Deutsch pointed out that the ideology and political practice of multiculturalism, fashionable in western Europe, have collapsed. We can see this clearly in France, where migrant riots are currently taking place.
He stressed that “we, Hungarians, are the defenders of Europe, and in the past half decade, Hungary has prevented the entry of one million illegal migrants”. In contrast, the illegal migrants let in by Western countries are now an unbearable burden in these countries. That is why they are now trying to force the problem of the illegal migrants they let in onto the countries of Central and Eastern Europe. He added that to implement this, a regulation has been adopted in Brussels that sets binding quotas and obliges Member States to build refugee camps and migrant ghettos.
The head of the delegation pointed out that “no matter how they try, we will not implement these decisions of the European Union. We will not accept the mandatory quota, and we will not accept the obligation to build migrant ghettos and camps”.
