The Fidesz-KDNP Delegation to the European Parliament commemorates the victorious revolution of October 23, 1956, as well as the heroes and victims of the Hungarian Revolution. The Hungarian revolution, sixty-four years ago, became a defining part of European history; the Hungarian revolution changed the world. We are proud of those who persevered in the fight for Hungarian freedom against the communist dictatorship and the occupying Soviet forces, believing in the idea of freedom and national sovereignty.

Hungarians wanted, and still want, to be free, at all costs. As a free nation, we want to shape our future ourselves. Drawing strength from the courage and perseverance of the heroes of ‘56, the Fidesz-KDNP Delegation will continue to fight for the interests of the Hungarian people. Because we are convinced that together we will succeed in defending our freedom and preserving our national sovereignty once again!
