The parliamentary group of the European People’s Party has used an image of the Hungarian Parliament in rainbow colours in its press release for the plenary debate on the Hungarian Child Protection Act. The Fidesz delegation in the European Parliament regards this tasteless provocation as outrageous and protests against the undignified mockery of the symbol of Hungarian statehood and national independence, which is equally dear to the hearts of all Hungarians! Show more respect to Hungarians!
The European People’s Party (EPP) complained all over Europe when the picture of Jean-Claude Juncker, then President of the European Commission, was displayed on a poster in Hungary. Now, the EPP is making a crude and tasteless mockery of the 120-year-old historic building of the Hungarian Parliament, the symbol of Hungarian statehood and national independence, which is equally dear to the hearts of all Hungarians!
The Fidesz delegation in the European Parliament protests in the strongest possible terms against the visual representation used in the press release issued on behalf of the EPP Group, which is an insult to all well-meaning Hungarians. We demand that more respect be shown to Hungarians!
