Speaking at yesterday evening’s plenary session of the European Parliament, Fidesz MEP Ádám Kósa pointed out that “the left can be bought, whether it is Hungarian or European. All the signs point in the direction that the coalition of Hungarian opposition parties, which received billions of forints in campaign funding from abroad before the April elections, has carried out one of the most blatant attempts to influence democratic elections”.
MEP Kósa pointed out that “this amount is three times the amount that the parties received from the Hungarian state for the campaign under democratic and transparent conditions. The European Parliament must see clearly that these dollars are embedded in the politics of the left: they are in their statements, their speeches, their ‘briefings’. They paint a distorted picture of Hungary for the benefit of those who use these dollars to buy votes and political opinions. It is time to face the fact that many MEPs have listened to the lies of the Hungarian dollar-left and made absurd accusations against Hungary”.
