The Hungarian vaccine strategy is an outstanding success story!

2021. 04. 27.

At European Parliament plenary session MEPs held a debate on the conclusions of the European Council meeting of 25 and 26 March 2021. Fidesz MEP Edina Tóth in her plenary speech highlighted that although the European Commission’s vaccine strategy has been introduced with lofty words, unfortunately the Brussels-led joint procurement has failed. By contrast, strong measures implemented by Member States, as shown by the Hungarian government’s internationally recognized vaccination strategy, leads us to the solution!

Edina Tóth added: “I fully agree with the conclusions of the European Council meeting, we really need to speed up the vaccination process”. In her speech, the Fidesz politician pointed out that measures taken by nation states and national responses to the virus play an important role in the fight against the coronavirus. This conclusion is also confirmed by the statement of the European Director of WHO, who called the Hungarian vaccination campaign exemplary across Europe. “I believe that such decisive actions are needed and Member States must do everything in their power to purchase vaccines in favour to reach the adequate level of vaccination,” emphasized the MEP.

“I recommend the Hungarian experience to everyone, with modesty, as what we have managed to achieve in Hungary that can be achieved in all Member States: make firm decisions, have enough vaccines and vaccinate quickly!,” the politician closed her speech.
