The European Parliament wants to organise illegal migration to Europe

“The decision on the situation in the Mediterranean is further proof that the pro-immigration left wants to organise, not stop, illegal migration to Europe”, said Fidesz MEP Balázs Hidvéghi on the European Parliament’s decision on the Mediterranean search and rescue operations. The MEP stressed that he strongly rejects the pro-immigration resolution because it contains proposals that will encourage illegal migration and thus lead to further tragedies.

According to MEP Balázs Hidvéghi, the deadly tragedies in the Mediterranean will continue as long as Europe is unable to protect its borders and deter illegal migrants from heading towards Europe. “As long as Brussels continues to legislate on the distribution of migrants and the organisation of migration, more and more people will continue to take the dangerous sea routes to Europe”, said the MEP. He stressed that this can only end if Europe makes it clear that it will not tolerate illegal entry into its territory.

He added that “meanwhile, the cultural and public safety consequences of illegal immigration are becoming increasingly clear in major Western cities – just think of the events in France. And the people of Europe don’t want it – they don’t want burning cars, smashed shop windows, no-go zones”. The MEP condemned Brussels’ pro-migration decisions and called for the interests of the European people to be protected. “It’s time for Brussels to support, and not hamstring, the border protection efforts of Member States”, said MEP Balázs Hidvéghi.
