MEP Kinga Gál becomes President of the Fidesz-KDNP Delegation to the European Parliament

The Fidesz-KDNP Delegation to the European Parliament (EP) elected Kinga Gál as the President of the Hungarian EPP Group Delegation as the position vacated due to the resignation of József Szájer. Kinga Gál has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2004 and was Vice-President of the European People’s Party from 2015 to 2019. In the future, Kinga Gál will assist the Head of Delegation,Tamás Deutsch.

It was also decided that Ernő Schaller-Baross, a new member of the Fidesz-KDNP Delegation, would be a member of the European Parliament Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI) and the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL), and will take part in the work as a substitute member of the European Parliament Committee on Development (DEVE) and the Delegation for relations with the United States (D-US).

The Hungarian EPP Group Delegation also nominated Ádám Kósa as a member and vice-chairman of the European Parliament Committee on Budgetary Control (CONT).
