Letter from the EP delegation leaders of seven Conservative parties to David Sassoli, President of the European Parliament

At the initiative of Tamás Deutsch, Head of Fidesz delegation to the European Parliament, the heads of the delegations of seven Conservative parties in the European Parliament addressed the following letter to David Sassoli, President of the European Parliament

Honourable Mr President,

There has been great revulsion and outrage in our countries at the provocations of LGBTQ activist Riccardo Simonetti, who has been spreading the views of a violent sexual minority among children, and who, a few days ago, at the beginning of the Advent season, made a mockery of the Holy Family and Christianity by dressing up as a transgender Virgin Mary in a blasphemous manner, offending all people of good conscience.

We are appealing to you since Simonetti regularly presents himself as an “LGBTQ* Goodwill Ambassador of the European Parliament”, under the false pretence of representing this institution. Given that, as far as we are aware, the European Parliament has not bestowed this title to him, there is reason to believe that Simonetti is a political impostor who is merely misusing the name of our institution.

Since the European Parliament has not yet distanced itself from Simonetti’s misleading activities, we call on you, Honourable President, to take the necessary steps to combat this abuse in the interests of the dignity of the Parliament.
