It is with deep sorrow that we say goodbye to Ágnes Hankiss

It is with deep sorrow that we bid farewell to our friend and colleague, Ágnes Hankiss.

Ágnes Hankiss played a decisive role in the successful representation of Hungarian national interests in the European Parliament as a member of the Fidesz-KDNP delegation to the European Parliament between 2009 and 2014. In addition to her membership on numerous committees, she also did her utmost to defend the interests of Hungarian citizens as Vice-Chair of the EP’s Committee on Petitions between 2009 and 2012.

In her person, we also pay homage to an important figure in the overthrow of Communist rule and the reassertion of Hungarian freedom as well as to a research institute leader of civic Hungary who established a new school of thought.
