It is unacceptable that Klára Dobrev misuses EU money to produce campaign videos in which she also seeks to discredit Hungary with lies!

The Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament (S&D) has been approached by the Fidesz-KDNP Delegation to the EP, calling attention to the fact that Klára Dobrev, a member of the Socialist Group and Vice-President of the European Parliament (EP), is producing campaign videos with misused EU money. In addition, these videos contain lies about Hungary.

Several internet portals have reported that Klára Dobrev, a Socialist Vice-President of the European Parliament, is funding campaigns that discredit Hungary using EU funds, and her ads are being funded by anti-immigration organizations. All MEPs must handle European taxpayers’ money properly, especially if a majority of the parliament elects the MEP to be a Vice-President of the European Parliament. It is her duty to preserve her integrity as a Vice-President.

The Fidesz-KDNP Delegation to the European Parliament therefore calls on the S&D Group to clarify the situation and inform the public whether or not it considers it acceptable that their Vice-President, Klára Dobrev, produces campaign videos, in which she attacks the epidemic measures being taken in Hungary, that amount to fake news and that she uses EU money made available for her to produce this fake news.
