2022. 11. 24.
Today, the European Parliament voted on the text on EU funds for Hungary. The Fidesz delegation in the European Parliament stood firmly in the interests of the Hungarian people and rejected the text that condemned Hungary and the Hungarian people. It is shameful that the hungarian left-wing opposition MEPs have once again supported a text that condemns Hungary and is against the interests of the Hungarian people. The text adopted by the Left is nothing short of taking away – at any cost – from millions of Hungarians, as political punishment, the EU funds that are rightfully ours.
Once again, the European Parliament has adopted a text condemning Hungary with blatant lies, supported by the votes of the european Left, including the hungarian Left. MEP Tamás Deutsch, head of the Fidesz delegation in the European Parliament said in response: “The text adopted by the Left is nothing short of taking away – at any cost – from millions of Hungarians, as political punishment, the EU funds that are rightfully ours. The hungarian left-wing MEPs were all in favour of taking EU funds away from teachers’ pay rises, Hungarian local authorities, Hungarian small and medium-sized enterprises, hospitals, transport development, and environmental and energy investments.”
He added that “Mrs Gyurcsány’s shadow ministers, MEP Csaba Molnár and MEP Katalin Cseh, who, in order to please their foreign friends sponsoring them, were even creators of the proposal, and all the other hungarian left-wing MEPs who voted for the resolution were once again plotting against their country and acting against their compatriots. This is a disgrace!”
We, the Fidesz delegation in the European Parliament, stood firmly by the Hungarian people in the debate and voted against the text condemning Hungary and the Hungarians on the basis of blatant lies.
