A conference titled 'How can logistics improve people's lives?' has been organized today in Brussels by EPP Group MEP Ádám Kósa (Fidesz) and the European Logistics Association (ELA). The aim of the event was to let European institutions, experts and the civil society reflect together on the future of logistics and the potential that lies in it, and to find out how logistics could become a main engine of the European economy in accordance with the EU2020 strategy.

On Wednesday, MEP Ádám Kósa hosted a conference to introduce the World Disability Report published recently by the World Bank (WB) and the World Health Organization (WHO). High-level representatives of the European Commission; the relevant UN institutions; the Permanent Representation of Hungary to the EU and several NGOs participated on the discussion.

After months of raising awareness on the need to grant full access to the standardised European emergency number 112, Written Declaration n°35 on 112 for deaf, hard-of-hearing, speech-impaired users and for situations where discretion of the call is needed, with 460 MEP signatures, has been adopted by the European Parliament.

In her speech, Hungarian Fidesz MEP Lívia Járóka pointed out the four tasks that wait for the EU institutions: the evaluation and possible revision of national Roma inclusion strategies by the Commission; the development of a European crisis map evaluating the most disadvantaged micro-regions; the modification of the next Multiannual Financial Framework and the full transposition and implementation of the EU directive on equal treatment.
