The European Court of Auditors has determined a serious lack of competence regarding the von der Leyen Commission’s policy!

In its recently presented report, the Luxembourg-based European Court of Auditors has articulated a strong criticism of the European Commission’s policy on critical raw materials. According to the Court of Auditors, Brussels’ measures over the past five years have not reduced the EU’s dependence on critical raw materials, and the imports have increased as well. Commenting on this, András Gyürk, a Fidesz MEP and member of the Patriots for Europe group, stated: “The Court of Auditors’ report is further evidence that the Commission is unable to find solutions to Europe’s main challenges. A new policy is needed, which only we, the Patriots, can provide.”

In its report presented on Monday, the European Court of Auditors analysed the von der Leyen Commission’s policy on critical raw materials between 2020 and 2024. The results are devastating. “The partnership agreements concluded by the Commission have not brought any progress. Furthermore, many processing plants in Europe have also shut down due to the high energy prices mainly caused by the ill-advised policy of Brussels,” the Hungarian MEP pointed out.

According to the Court of Auditors, the Commission’s targets in the field of critical raw materials are vague and unachievable. Another serious problem is that the support programs are over-regulated and difficult to access. “Without critical raw materials, the digital transition cannot be achieved, and the competitiveness of the European economy cannot be ensured. Therefore, a new policy is needed in this area, which truly puts the interests of Europe first, instead of the interests of third countries. Currently, only we, the Patriots, can offer this,” said András Gyürk.
